My dad raves about this place. He's always telling me how good their chicken is. We went recently & I foundout exactly how good & delicious it is.
We got the sliders that come with chicken tenders & fries. The potatoe bun they use to put the tenders in is so soft & yummy. They top it off with their signature sauce & they didn't skimp on it. Our sliders were dripping with sauce.
The cheese fries were so piping hot & fresh & perfectly melted the cheese to make a delicious cheese blanket on top. They give out packets of Ketchup, hot sauce & honey. I only eat halal meat & haven't really tried honey on chicken but I've always heard it's an amazing combo so I gave it a shot here & wow, I totally loved it! The honey works perfect with the chicken meat.
They flavor the chicken very well here. The outside of the tender is crispy & crunchy but the inside is so moist & tender. Plenty of seating inside & easy to find street parking outside. I can't wait to come back here. If you haven't been already, I highly recommend you go here. I've read great things reviews on their Mac bowl & banana pudding so I'll update my review with those items next once I get my hands on them.
My overall experience at Slappin Chick was positive, but I must mention a couple of points that could be improved. The platter I ordered was two of the 2 Slappin Sliders, with a side of fries, and it felt a bit overpriced for what was offered. $16 for each platter seemed a bit costy, in terms of the portion size that I had received. Additionally, the fries, though they were presented well, were disappointingly hard and not as enjoyable as I had hoped. Moreover, the chicken in the platter leaned towards the dry side, which didn't quite meet my personal preference. Even though there were some shortcomings, I believe that Slappin Chick has the potential to address these concerns and can further enhance their dining experience. I will definitely return in the future and I hope to see improvements in the future, as it could make this place even more exceptional.
Menu is weird, prices a little high, but damn the food is good. Lots of flavor on the sliders with some heat at the “Hot” level, gotta try slappin next time!
Honestly The most disgusting place I’ve ever been inside of. You can tell that only necessary. Cosmetic stuff was done the decor there is none. Will you go to the bathroom? It is absolutely disgusting the bathroom rusty water soap dispenser on the sink you don’t even wanna touch anything. I do have to say the food was good.
I would like to start off by saying that parking is hard to come by unless you're lucky enough to park in the front. When I walked in, it's soo quiet! There is no ambiance, just dead air. The cashier greeted me which was the bare minimum. I asked a couple questions about the food that he didn't know the answers to nor did he care to find out. Enough about that, let's get to the food.
I ordered the slider and tender plate mild with everything and extra slapping sauce. That sauce tastes like colored Mayo. I was told it was like a
"chipotle sauce" very deceitful & wouldn't have paid for extra on the side. I dipped my fries in the sauce;
At this point I'm starting to realize that NOTHING IS SEASONED OR FLAVORFUL AT ALL! They just put whatever heat level you ask for on top of it all for color! As I ate my tender I realized that medium wasn't bringing any heat & the colored powder was caked up on the tender & gave it a weird texture.
The tender comes with a slice of bread. That's it, it's not toasted or buttered. When I got to the slider it was a step above the tender only because the pickles and honey packets I added made it tolerable.
The coleslaw tasted like nothing but brought somewhat of a crunch. If you like bland overpriced food then this is the place for you. Otherwise I'll be elsewhere 🤷🏽♀️
Let me start off by saying I don’t think most food is 5 star worthy but this was.. *chefs kiss* The chicken was deliciously seasoned, something that as someone who knows a thing or two about seasoning, I can definitely appreciate. I dined in and I liked the fresh music choices but I’m also Gen Z so that might not hold as much weight for other audiences. Also very important to mention, the restaurant was VERY clean.
As far as what to order, I got the #1 Slappin Plate with the HOT sliders and the #5 Slappin Mac Bowl with the lemon pepper sliders. If you’re someone who likes cheese or more toppings, I would go with the Slappin Mac Bowl but truly they’re both equally delicious so you just can’t go wrong.
Honestly I drove an hour and a half one way for this food and it was definitely worth it. When the food tastes this good it’s a shocker that the line isn’t around the corner lol. Will definitely be back ☺️
Sidenote: make sure you grab a banana pudding dessert, it’s too good to pass up.
Went here for lunch today, thank god I did not drive from queens to LI only to have food here. The mild flavor chicken lacked heat and salt, the loaded fries had crazy amount of sauce and enough pickles for 20 Big Mac. Something’s are best once.
The good: The Chicken and Seasoning are on point and delicious. The 5 different levels of spice allow all to enjoy and the intensity of each is explained accurately before ordering. …
